Pre-Xmas Off-Piste Skills

Winter has arrived in Zinal!

With much concern in recent years about early season snowfall, it already feels like things will be much better this coming season. Two storm cycles have already blanketed many parts of the alps, and the weekend of 18/19th November should see the third storm cycle in a row arrive in the form of a Northern Stau. A Northern Stau typically deals the best snow to Austria, but many parts of Switzerland will see light snowfall in the next 6 days. Great news for a real snow base this season.

Zinal, with an excellent altitude offering of 1200m up to just over 3000m received a total makeover last week. Conditions rapidly changed from green grass to winter wonderland, and our amazing chalet partners Eric and Penny at Skizinal were perfectly placed to take advantage. The pictures below speak for themselves.

Mountain Tracks Pre X-mas off-piste skills course has just a few spots remaining. This trip lead by Dave Meyer, our head of Off-Piste coaching is THE perfect way to get your ski legs back. We place you in prime position on opening day of the ski area, conditions are shapping up for this to be a fantastic trip! click here for more information and to book one of the final places!

Zinal offers a huge ski area with mulitple aspects. The whole area is characterised by stunning high alpine terrain, deep valleys and charming villages. The main ski domains of Zinal, Grimentz, St Luc-Chandolin and Vercorin are well-connected by local buses. The area also has the advantages of being relatively unknown (and therefore not so busy) and easily accessible from Geneva, Zurich or Sion airports.
