Stamina: *****
To participate on the expert level courses you need to have excellent fitness and endurance. These are demanding courses where you'll be skiing hard all day for a week. Ski touring/walking/climbing will be used to access the best runs during the week, a good level of aerobic fitness is essential. If you enjoy long lunches and plenty of breaks, this course may not suit you!
The Italian resort of Alagna is part of the Monterosa ski region and has a reputation for having some of Europe's best
wilderness skiing which has attracted the more hard-core freeskiing element.
Recent investment in new lift systems has opened up the skiing but the slopes are still generally deserted and the resort has
maintained its distinctive Italian feel. You stay in the Hotel Monterosa in the centre of the resort.
With lifts taking you up to 3700m, the runs are some of the biggest in Europe. There are also some great heli-skiing opportunities. These are adventurous off-piste weeks for advanced skiers only.
