The 1-day Mountaincraft & Ski Hosting courses are spent out on the mountain and you need to be fit enough for a full day's activities.
On this 1-day course participants will learn the requisite skills that will give them more confidence when skiing or
boarding with clients.
During the morning sessions the focus will be on the roles and responsibilities of the ski host - what the job entails on a
day-to-day basis; how to do it properly and so that it is fun, safe and memorable for the clients.
In the afternoon, the training will concentrate on the risks & hazards, dealing with incidents and exercising ‘due
diligence – i.e. determining the level of judgement, prudence and care that the staff member must maintain in order that all
reasonable precautions are taken to prevent injuries or accidents.

What previous particpants say
“I started my ski guide training utterly petrified, tears freezing on my cheeks. By the time we were finished I was
confident and happy that I could show any guests just how wonderful the mountain was with ease. Our trainer was encouraging,
knowledgeable, ready to answer questions and made sure everyone came away from the mountain feeling ready to take on the
challenge of guiding over their season. The day was finished with a chance to play in the snow and the group’s thanks to Andy
for a really great experience were totally genuine.”
