Roger lives with his partner, Julie-Ann in Leysin in western Switzerland. They are both UIAGM mountain guides and have extensive guiding experience and knowledge of the Alps. Both are rewnowned climbers, and have been on many expeditions making difficult first ascents. They are members of the British Association of Mountain Guides, the Association Vaudoise des Guides de Montagne, and the American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education.
