Leysin, Switzerland
The Swiss ski resort of Leysin is is part of the Glacier-Alpes Vaudoises Ski Area which also includes Villars, Les Diablerets
and Gstaad amongst others. The village is at 1300m and the highest lifts take you to about 2200m.
Given its aspect and location, Leysin is renowned for excellent snow cover and lots of sunshine.
The resort itself is small but has a variety of friendly bars and restaurants.
Accommodation is mostly provided in 2 and 3 star hotels.
With Geneva Airport just 90 minutes away by road or rail, Leysin is an ideal weekend/short break destination.
For 2007 we will be using Leysin as the base for many of our Avalanche Awareness courses and it also the starting point for the
excellent "Wild" Western Oberland Ski Tour!

Getting There
Leysin can be reached easily by road, train and air. The nearest airport is Geneva.
From the airport the transfer time by car is about 90 minutes, and by train is just under 2 hours. The train leaves directly
from Geneva airport, with an hourly service into Leysin at a cost (one-way) of around 42CHF.
