"Mountain Tracks is an innovative and personal company, and it’s great to be involved. Our trips always offer undiluted and genuine mountain adventure. As a group of UIAGM guides we have more expertise in off-piste and ski touring than any company and our clients benefit from this.

It all started for me on the gritstone edges of my home county Derbyshire. By mid–teens I was hooked on climbing and the mountains. Many adventures and expeditions followed including notable new routes on Greenland’s big walls. In the 90’s I spent many years leading mountaineering expeditions in the greater ranges and summited on many high peaks of the Himalaya and the Andes. In the winter of 2008 I completed a winter ascent of the North face of the Eiger.

Chamonix valley is my home now and I have intimate knowledge of the surrounding areas. My favourite areas for skiing are Chamonix and Zermatt and also the smaller areas of St. Foy and La Thuile. However, I have yet to experience Kashmir!

The Mountain Tracks Elbrus expedition is a personal favourite of mine. Russia is a culturally very interesting country and the Caucuses are on a grand scale. Skiing in remote, high ranges is very special and has to be experienced.

My vision for the future is simply to continue to provide the highest quality mountain adventure for our clients. "

What previous clients say about Matt:

"Matt our guide did a great job finding us plenty of fresh snow to ski and taking us on some stunning routes. Rob and Sarah run a great chalet and Rob did a great job of drop offs and pick ups making getting around very easy. I think I can say for all of us it was a trip we will never forget, Many thanks, Looking forward to future trips," (Chamonix Off-Piste, March 2005)

"Our guide Matt worked wonders to find some great runs with good snow, we had one day of ski touring which went very well again Matt had spent time researching the best route for the group / conditions - your team did you proud!"
