News Gallery (Bernese Oberland Tour, 29 March-5 April 2008) Testimonials
When I had to abandon the HR, Nick asked me to join him on some touring in the Cham area. Although still challenging, this was more within my own capabilities. I think this kind of flexibility, where MT can offer alternatives to clients when things go awry, is its greatest strength and was much appreciated by me.

Off-Piste Adventure > Off-Piste Intermediate, Samoens
Off-Piste Intermediate, Samoens

Huddled between Geneva and Chamonix, the five villages that make up Le Grand Massif form France’s fourth-biggest ski area. The area has benefited from recent investment in new lifts which allow access to lots of varied off-piste. Combine this with reliable snowfall, a distinct lack of queues at the lifts and stunning scenery with Mont Blanc always in view and it all adds up to the perfect venue for a fabulous off-piste week!

Skill/Stamina

Skill: **

Our intermediate level off-piste adventure courses are for people with between 2 and 5 weeks off-piste skiing. Capable of skiing 10-12 continuous turns off-piste. Can ski down most slopes but lack confidence on steeper pitches and in tricky conditions.

These weeks will be led by Mountain Guides and so the focus will be on off-piste guiding and mountain awareness with some general coaching and instruction.

Stamina: ***

For the off-piste adventure courses you need to have good physical fitness in order to enjoy full days on the hill. On these courses you will mostly use the lift systems to gain altitude but you can expect some walking/climbing in order to access some runs.

Itinerary

5 full days with a qualified IFMGA Mountain Guide. There is also 1 non guided day during the week.

We aim to provide:
• First class guiding and coaching from professional, friendly Mountain Guides to improve
off piste skiing skills and technique and to build confidence.
• Practical mountain awareness training on the hazards and risks associated with skiing
off-piste particularly for avalanches.
• The opportunity to ski the best off piste available in the Grand Massif!

The week is intended to be fun with lots of challenging off piste skiing but always directed with maximum attention to your safety and the safety of others.

Itineraries vary depending on the composition of the group and the weather and snow conditions.
